Mission of The Fellows Initiative (TFI)
The Fellows Initiative (TFI) is a national network of church-based Fellows programs that equip recent graduates for Christian discipleship, leadership, and cultural engagement.
TFI seeks a strategic, relational Executive Director to lead the next season of national growth. Fellows programs across the country are strengthening, new programs are emerging, and the network is poised for wider impact. The next Executive Director will build on that momentum — supporting existing programs with excellence, guiding new launches, and securing the resources that allow the mission to flourish.
Position Summary
Full-time, remote-first executive responsible for protecting and advancing the mission, raising the bar on program quality, expanding the national network, and ensuring long-term organizational health. Leads with theological clarity, operational rigor, and executive presence. Reports to the Board of Directors. Oversees small staff, contractors, and national partner network.
Core Mandate
Guard the mission. Strengthen existing Fellows programs. Vet and help launch new programs. Enhance organizational infrastructure. Ensure financial stability through donor development, foundation engagement, fee-for-service models, and partnerships. Drive national coherence while supporting local distinctiveness.
Responsibilities
1. Organizational Leadership
• Lead strategic planning
• Strengthen national network relationships
• Align operations with mission and theology
• Set goals and create accountability structures
2. Fundraising & Development
• Lead donor development and fundraising efforts
• Manage donor CRM and communication
• Build diversified revenue streams
• Coordinate development with board members
3. Network Engagement
• Build trust with Fellows Program Directors
• Lead Fellows Program Director calls, summits, and training
• Support new program development with onsite trainings and phone consultations • Work with TFI staff to plan and execute network-wide events for Fellows Programs
4. Board Relations & Governance
• Provide monthly written reports with enough time for review
• Maintain compliance and financial stewardship
• Support board governance and planning
5. Operations & Administration
• Oversee TFI staff, contractors, and vendors
• Manage budgeting, financial processes, and administrative systems
• Ensure organizational policies and procedures are followed
Qualifications
• Demonstrated leadership in a nonprofit, ministry, or networked organization
• Proven fundraising and donor-relation competence (documented)
• Executive presence — clear, composed, and credible under pressure
• Ability to manage planning, budgeting, and organizational systems
• Familiarity with TFI and/or experience with a local Fellows Program desired

Work Environment
• Fully remote with U.S. travel
• Collaboration across multiple denominational backgrounds
• Compensation based on experience and FT structure
