Position

This is a part-time Senior Pastor position, accountable to Christ first and second to the Board of Elders. The compensation is $85,000 per year which includes a housing allowance.  It is a substantial part time position estimated at 36 hours per week.  

Role

The pastor will teach the Word of God from the Bible, model Christ-like living, provide discipleship, spiritual leadership, pastoral counseling, supervision of staff and lay leadership, and assist the Elders in overseeing the life and direction of the church while subscribing to the Lighthouse Christian Church bylaws.

Requirements

Education

Formal biblical and/or theological training preferred (B.A. or higher in Theology or Biblical Studies), though equivalent work experience will be considered.

Experience

Minimum three years' experience in active, ordained leadership ministry (cumulative) as an Associate Pastor or Senior Pastor.

Responsibilities

Proclaimer and Teacher (45%)

·      The Senior Pastor will function as our primary theologian, preacher, and teacher.

·      He will develop sermons primarily from the Bible, teaching biblical truths with the aim of glorifying the Trinity.

·      He will be responsible for fostering the growth of our congregation, both spiritually and in membership.

Spiritual Leadership (25%)

·      He will faithfully seek God's guidance and provision through consistent prayer and Bible study.

·      He will oversee Baptism, Communion, corporate prayer, and altar calls.

·      He will provide oversight to men's, women's, children's, and youth ministries.

Counselor (15%)

·      He will make an effort to become acquainted with church members.

·      He will remain reasonably available for counseling appointments, including some evenings and weekends.

Administrative Leadership (15%)

·      He will engage in hiring and dismissal of staff with the Elders.

·      He will maintain a consistent office schedule for communication and availability.

·      He will encourage church members to participate in activities to further the church vision.
