Nursery Coordinator

Wayside Presbyterian Church is seeking a caring and dependable Nursery Coordinator to provide a safe, welcoming environment for infants and preschoolers during Sunday worship. This part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children, supporting families, and partnering with volunteers in a church setting. Average commitment is 3.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care for infants through preschool-aged children during Sunday services
• Welcome families and manage child check-in and pick-up procedures
• Work with volunteers to ensure safe and appropriate nursery coverage
• Maintain a clean, healthy nursery space, including routine and seasonal cleaning
• Track nursery attendance and communicate needs or concerns to the Director of Family Ministry
• Support early faith development through nurturing care, play, and simple activities

Requirements

• Childcare experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with families and volunteers
• Basic comfort with technology (text/email communication, digital check-in if used)
• High school diploma preferred
• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license
• Ability to work in person on Sunday mornings, including holidays
• Required PA clearances, Mandated Reporter training, and CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
