Missionary to Portugal

We have various mission opportunities in Portugal. This is a 24-month minimum commitment. It involves church planting and serving disadvantaged/marginalised people (some maybe immigrants/refugees/asylum seekers/people facing poverty). There is a six-month in country language learning within the 24 months.

We shall be, and operating both as a church fellowship and non-profit organisation.

There is group fundraising effort in place for the team of at least three that will be pioneering staff. Funds raised will cover air tickets, visa costs, and monthly stipend for 24 months. It is common pool fundraising. There are no tent-making opportunities in Portugal. hence it is important all team members work together to raise all funds for the mission.

All skills are welcomed. All experiences welcomed also.

The teams from US and overseas will be partnering with a local Christian mission organisation to work in Portugal. Chances it may not be Lisbon, the capital and or may include it.

Team members will form the the founding members of the church plant that will include provision of outreach and social services to displaced people. Part of the plan is to run a homeless shelter, cafe-cum-working space for gig workers, skills training, etc.

Essential requirements:

A willingness to work and be part of a non-denominational setting. 

Willingness to support and be a team player.

Obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Respect and treat target population with dignity and the love of Christ.

Openness to some physical inconveniences that are part of mission work.

Must be at least 20 years of age.
