On‑Staff Backup Role (Homebirth Practice)

A local homebirth practice is seeking a midwife for a part-time, on‑staff backup role, to attend a birth in the rare case that the primary midwife is unable to attend due to another birth or a true emergency. This position is designed for a midwife who values a faith‑informed, relationship‑centered approach to care and is seeking minimal, predictable involvement rather than high volume.

The role includes paid on‑call availability, ½-day prenatal clinic per month, so families are familiar with the provider, two zoom calls (1 hour) with primary MW per month, to stay engaged with practice activities, and full compensation for any birth attended.

This opportunity may be a good fit for a midwife who is semi‑retired, a stay‑at‑home mom, or someone seeking supplemental work in a values‑aligned environment.

Role Highlights

• $500 monthly paid for on‑call availability

• $100 per hour for one prenatal clinic day per month

• $2,000 compensation for each birth attended

• Malpractice reimbursement paid quarterly after each completed quarter with the practice.
