Middle School Boys Head Basketball Coach

Key Responsibilities

• Spiritual Leadership: Disciples student-athletes by integrating faith, prayer, and biblical character lessons into practices and games.
• Skill Development: Teach fundamental basketball skills, court awareness, rules, and team strategies tailored to middle school development.
• Practice & Game Management: Plan, organize, and execute engaging daily practices and lead the team during scheduled home and away games.
• Mentorship: Serve as a positive Christian role model, demonstrating high integrity, emotional control, and a competitive yet Christ-like attitude.
• Communication: Maintain clear, professional, and timely communication with players, parents, the Athletic Director, and opposing teams/officials.
• Safety & Stewardship: Ensure player safety during all activities and maintain accountability for school-issued equipment and uniforms.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Faith Alignment: A committed follower of Jesus Christ who actively attends a local church and agrees with our school's Statement of Faith.
• Experience: Prior coaching or playing experience at the middle school, high school, or youth league level is preferred.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, rules, and effective teaching techniques for middle school-aged athletes.
• Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work weekday afternoons and evenings for practices and games (typically 3–4 days per week).
• Clearances: Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check and hold (or be willing to obtain) standard CPR/First Aid certification.
