Located in Happy Valley, Oregon—one of the fastest-growing communities in the state—Eastridge offers unique opportunities for ministry and outreach in a rapidly expanding area.
Position Summary
The Lead Pastor serves as the primary spiritual leader of Eastridge Church, working closely with staff and the Leadership Team. This role is responsible for casting vision, shepherding the congregation, and leading ministries that foster spiritual growth, community engagement, and gospel impact.
The ideal candidate is a gifted communicator, relational leader, and strategic thinker with a passion for making disciples and building a healthy, thriving church. This individual will report to the current Transitional Pastor through August 31, 2027, providing a unique opportunity for a thoughtful and relational leadership transition.
Key Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership
- Provide overall vision and spiritual direction
- Lead worship services and cultivate a culture of prayer, discipleship, and evangelism
Preaching & Teaching
- Deliver biblically grounded, engaging sermons
- Equip the congregation toward life transformation
Pastoral Care
- Offer spiritual guidance and support to individuals and families
- Provide care through visits, crisis support, and prayer
Staff Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and supervise staff
- Foster a healthy, unified, mission-driven team culture
Vision & Strategy
- Develop and communicate a compelling vision
- Lead toward spiritual depth and growth
Community Engagement
- Build relationships with local leaders and organizations
- Mobilize outreach and service efforts
Leadership Development
- Identify and equip emerging leaders
- Create pathways for leadership and service
Financial Stewardship
- Oversee finances in partnership with leadership
- Ensure responsible, mission-aligned resource management
Collaboration & Alignment
- Work with ministry teams to ensure unity and effectiveness
- Align ministries with the church’s mission
Denominational Engagement
- Engage with the Evangelical Covenant Church
- Pursue or maintain denominational credentialing
Additional Responsibilities
- Officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms, and special services
- Help develop church policies and procedures
- Communicate regularly with the congregation
- Participate in church-wide events and ministry activities
Qualifications
- Strong, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Alignment with Eastridge Church’s beliefs and mission
- Experience in pastoral leadership and preaching
- Proven ability to lead teams and develop leaders
- Excellent communication and relational skills
- Theological training or equivalent experience
- Willingness to pursue Evangelical Covenant Church credentialing
