Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Preschool Lead Teacher for our Jr K classroom. Our Jr K program serves as a bridge between preschool and kindergarten, focusing on essential skills such as self-regulation, communication, literacy, and math through a structured curriculum. We are look for a teacher to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment. As a key leader in early childhood education, you will implement developmentally appropriate curriculum, promote positive behavior, and support the social, emotional, and cognitive growth of children. Your enthusiasm for early childhood education will help create a vibrant learning space where children feel safe, valued, and excited to explore. Duties
- Use our curriculum to execute engaging lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, reading and more
- Create a warm, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social skills
- Implement curriculum development strategies tailored to diverse learning needs
- Manage classroom activities to ensure smooth daily operations while maintaining high standards of classroom management and behavior management
- Foster positive relationships with children and their families through clear communication and regular updates on progress
- Support child welfare by monitoring developmental milestones and collaborating with specialists when necessary
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to track progress and inform instruction
Requirements
- Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 9:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. (Teacher classroom hours are approximately 8:50 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.).
- Additional Hours: Potential for Friday mornings (9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) to prepare curriculum for other classes.
- Term: Begins the Tuesday after Labor Day and runs through May 17th.
Qualifications:
- Must be a practicing Christian.
- Must be Lead Teacher qualified per Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) licensing.
CDEC qualifications include one of the following:
- Education: A Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a child-related field (or 60 college credits) including specific ECE courses, plus 6 months (910 hours) of verified experience.
- Credential: A Level III Version 2.0 or higher Early Childhood Professional Credential (ECPC).
