About the Role
fall semester 2026. The Math-Physics department provides service courses to the college, a mathematics major and minor, an actuary science minor, and a mathematics education degree. Our student-focused undergraduate institution values self-motivated, versatile faculty with strong teaching skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively with other faculty members.
The successful candidate will embrace the College’s Christ-centered mission, demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence, desire to serve as a mentor and positive role model, and pursue the integration of teaching mathematics and the Christian faith.
Teaching responsibilities will include standard mathematics topics in both introductory and advanced courses, including the calculus sequence. Candidates with an interest in teaching introductory statistics will be given preference. Opportunities to teach in other areas such as computer science and physics are available depending on the candidate’s qualifications and interests. Non-teaching responsibilities include working with other faculty to develop and enhance courses, advising students, participating in student extracurricular activities, and supporting assessment and evaluation activities.
A Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences field (e.g. Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Operations Research), and teaching experience are preferred. As a minimum, the candidate should possess an M.S. in a mathematical sciences field; or an M.S. in a relevant non-mathematics field accompanied by significant, documented mathematics experience.
