About the Role
College of the Ozarks invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Computer Science
beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. We seek student-centered, self-motivated, and versatile
faculty members with strong teaching skills and a demonstrated ability to collaborate and
communicate effectively with colleagues. This position will focus primarily on the continued
development and stewardship of our new Data Science and Artificial Intelligence program.
The Computer Science Department offers majors and minors in Computer Information Science,
Computer Science, and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, as well as a minor in
Cybersecurity and a range of general education courses.
Teaching responsibilities will include both lower- and upper-division courses in Computer
Science, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence. The successful candidate will also be expected
to maintain and develop course content and curriculum to ensure high-quality instruction and
ongoing alignment with academic standards and industry needs. The standard teaching load is 24
credit hours over a nine-month academic year.
College of the Ozarks is a distinctive liberal arts, work-study college of approximately 1,450
students, located in southwest Missouri near Branson. Deeply rooted in Christian faith and
service, the College is known for its close-knit community, strong mentoring culture, and
commitment to developing students academically, professionally, and spiritually. Class sizes are
intentionally small—typically 10 to 24 students in STEM courses—allowing faculty to build
meaningful relationships with students.
College of the Ozarks seeks faculty members who embrace the institution’s Christian mission,
demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching, serve as mentors and positive role models for
students, and contribute collaboratively to the life of the College. Applicants should hold an
M.S., D.Sc., or Ph.D. in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related computing
field. Candidates with degrees in a related discipline should also demonstrate substantial, welldocumented experience in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
To apply, please submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, transcripts, and three letters of
recommendation, including one from your pastor, to Dr. Susan DeWoody, Provost, PO Box 17,
Point Lookout, MO 65726, or by email to provostoffice@cofo.edu. Review of applications will
begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
