Elementary School Principal – Job Summary

Reporting to the CEO, the Elementary School Principal serves as the chief administrator and educational leader of the Elementary School. The role is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, supervision, safety, and academic success of the school while fostering a positive learning environment for students and staff.

Key responsibilities include leading curriculum planning and implementation, supervising and evaluating teachers, supporting staff development, managing student discipline and welfare, and maintaining strong relationships with parents, the school community, and external stakeholders. The Principal oversees strategic planning and execution for the Elementary School, ensures compliance with school policies and regulatory requirements, and promotes continuous school improvement aligned with the mission and values of AIS.

The Principal collaborates closely with teachers, administration, and the AIS Council/Board to enhance instructional quality, student achievement, diversity initiatives, and community engagement. The role also includes managing school operations, maintaining a safe and effective learning environment, coordinating student support services, and representing the school within the wider community.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with expertise in curriculum development, instructional supervision, student support, and staff management within an international school environment.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Elementary Education, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience and 3 years’ administrative leadership experience.
• Experience in an international school setting preferred.
• Strong collaboration, communication, supervisory, managerial, and budgetary skills.
