The Child Safety and Protection Network (CSPN) equips organizations around the world
to better protect children through training, networking, and practical safeguarding
resources. Our mission is to collaborate with international Christian organizations by
coming alongside them in their efforts to safeguard the vulnerable in their respective
communities.
We are seeking a highly organized, dependable Director of Events who enjoys
coordinating details, serving people well, and ensuring every event reflects excellence
and hospitality.
Position Summary
The Director of Events is responsible for planning and coordinating logistics for CSPN
conferences and live/online child safety training programs. This role reports to the
Executive Director, works closely with the Director of Advancement and the Director of
People and Community, and serves on the Global Conference Planning Committee to
ensure that every event is professionally organized and provides an outstanding
experience for participants.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys project management, event coordination,
communication, and working behind the scenes to help others succeed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate logistics for CSPN conferences, workshops, and training events.
- Develop event timelines and oversee preparation from initial planning through postevent follow-up.
- Coordinate event announcements and registration processes with the Director of Advancement.
- Prepare and monitor event budgets in collaboration with leadership.
- Organize and prepare physical and digital training materials, participant resources, and event documentation.
- Communicate event information, welcome letters, schedules, and updates to participants.
- Coordinate lodging/travel logistics for Board and staff members during Global Conference and in-person Board meetings (annually).
- Serve as the primary point of contact for attendees before and during events.
- Collect participant/presenter evaluations and prepare post-event feedback summaries.
- Collaborate regularly with the Director of People and Community to communicate needed training presentation teams.
- Serve on the Global Conference Planning Committee.
- Recommend improvements to event processes and participant experience.
Qualifications
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Careful attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365/Office and online collaboration tools.
- Comfort in learning event registration and virtual meeting platforms.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote international team.
- A heart for serving organizations that protect children worldwide.
- Commitment to CSPN’s Christian mission and child safeguarding values; agreement to CSPN Statement of Faith.
- Previous experience coordinating conferences, trainings, ministry events, or nonprofit programs is preferred but not required.
Time Commitment
- Typically 8–10 hours per week (approximately 35–45 hours per month), with seasonal fluctuations based on conference and training schedules.
- Workload increases during the weeks leading up to conferences and training events and is lighter during planning periods.
- Attendance at annual Global Conference.
- Flexible schedule with occasional availability during live events.
